These local authorities validate life certificates (for Belgians and non-Belgians) :
- Sweden: a service center of Skatteverket/Försäkringskassan in your area
- Latvia: the department of civil registries at your municipality
Bring the life certificate form and a valid ID or passport.
The Embassy of Belgium is only authorized to sign life certificates for Belgian citizens.
Honorary consulates are not authorized to validate life certificates.
Documents to submit for validation by the Belgian Embassy in Stockholm (for Belgian citizens)
- The life certificate form of the Belgian pension service, duly completed
- A copy of your valid Belgian passport or identity card
- Download a personbevis 'Utdrag om folbokföringsuppgifter' on Skatteverket (max 1 week old)
- Note mentioning your phone number and e-mail address

- By e-mail: the Embassy sends the validated life certificate by e-mail. Clearly mention your e-mail address in your request.
- By registered post (REK):
- Go to the Postnord website
- Select REK, max weight 50 g and fill out the following:
- Sender:

- Postcode: 102 25 Stockholm
- E-mail: stockholm@diplobel.fed.be
- Receiver:
- Your name, your address, your e-mail or phone number.
- The Embassy will receive a shipping label to send the document.
